Allison Crutchfield details solo debut Tourist In This Town
Allison Crutchfield has revealed "Dean's Room", the first single from her upcoming debut record Tourist In This Town.
The Alabama-born artist has been involved with a bunch of projects over the years, including P.S. Eliot and Bad Banana (both with twin sister Katie Crutchfield of Waxahatchee) and Swearin', but hasn't released a full-length under her own name before. Her first EP, Lean In To It, arrived in 2014.
Tourist In This Town was recorded in Philadelphia with Jeff Zeigler (Kurt Vile, Steve Gunn).
“This record marked a sonic transition in the way I think about the element of space in music, and I attribute that mainly to Jeff,” says Crutchfield. “His arsenal and knowledge of analog synths, along with his ear for spatial addition and subtraction within a song, really sculpted this album and impacted me artistically forever.”
"Dean's Room" is stuffed with energy, dreamy hooks, and '80s synths. The accompanying video is directed by Lara Gallagher.
