All Points East 2020 cancelled due to coronavirus
London's multi-weekender festival All Points East has announced the cancellation of this year's event, citing health concerns following the coronavirus pandemic.
Bombay Bicycle Club, Kraftwerk, Tame Impala, Massive Attack, and The Kooks were due to headline separate days of the festival, which was originally expected to run across two weekends from 22-31 May.
All Points East have shared a statement on the cancellation, which reads, "Following the daily escalating developments in the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision that All Points East 2020 will be cancelled." The explain that they "are unable to guarantee the safety and wellbeing of those working and attending the event."
They go on to thank the NHS and emergency services, and reveal that they "felt compelled to seek answers to all our questions before making this final decision. However, safety always comes first and what is happening across the world clearly takes precedent and there was simply no alternative."
APE explain that ticketholders will be contacted by their point of purchase about refunds - those that haven't been contacted by 9 April are urged to contact their ticket agent directly.
The festival wraps up the statement by writing, "Please continue to follow the advice given and keep yourselves and your loved ones safe, and we will be back with plans for 2021 shortly."
