Alice Boman announces debut album with tender lead single "Wish We Had More Time"
Swedish singer/songwriter Alice Boman has announced her long-awaited debut album Dream On, alongside revealing the tender lead track "Wish We Had More Time".
"Wish We Had More Time" is the opening track from Boman's debut record, which will also feature July's "This Is Where It Ends".
Boman's new single arrives with a video directed by Julia Ringdahl, who also plays guitar and does backing vocals in Boman's band. Speaking about the video, Ringdahl says, "The forest where the video is filmed is a bit nostalgic for Alice and me. We lived together for one and a half years next to this little grove, you can almost see the house in the video. And we’ve spent hours and hours in front of a campfire there. Talking, eating and drinking wine. The video is a play with time."
Dream On saw Boman work with producer Patrik Berger (Robyn, Charli XCX) and frequent collaborator Fabian Prynn. Boman says of the record, "This album is a new way of exploring intimacy for me. It can be scary to create with other people but you have to let that other person in and not hold back. It felt so good and so right working with him [Berger] right away, It's nice to be able to let go when it's with someone you feel like you can trust."
Expanding on the tone of the record, Boman adds, "A lot of the songs spring from a feeling of sadness, something being lost or broken or just not turning out the way you wanted it to. It's a way to express yourself, making you feel a bit lighter because heartbreak and disappointment are things that make you stronger. It's nice to share these things with people because it's such a universal feeling. I hope maybe someone can find some comfort in it - we're all going through similar things. There's no happy songs here, it's a sad record, but I think it's hopeful too."
