Alex G shares new We’re All Going to the World’s Fair song "Main Theme"
Alex G has released a second song titled "Main Theme" from his upcoming soundtrack for We're All Going to the World's Fair.
Next week Alex G will release his soundtrack for We're All Going to the World's Fair, a film about a teenager that becomes "immersed in an online role-playing horror game, wherein she begins to document the changes that may or may not be happening to her."
After releasing a first taster of the soundtrack titled "End Song" last month, Alex G has unveiled a second track from the score called "Main Theme".
Director Jane Schoenbrun said of Alex G's new song, "I love horror films, but it was also important to me that my film feel more than just scary. I wanted it to feel gentle, sad, personal, and homemade: the kind of 'horror' movie that might make you cry. When Alex's gorgeous, emotive "Main Theme" enters during our opening credits (and then recurs in mutated forms throughout the movie), it's meant as a signal to the audience of exactly this ambition."
The film debuted at Sundance Film Festival 2021, and is due to get a digital release this month.
His score for We're All Going to the World's Fair will be his first new music since 2019's House of Sugar album.
