Alex G announces new record Beach Music, reveals lead single "Bug"
Alex Giannascoli, better known as Alex G, has announced a brand new record called Beach Music, and is sharing its lead cut "Bug".
Giannascoli was on our list of Ones To Watch in late 2014 as we looked ahead to the coming year.
As usual, the album was written and recorded in Giannascoli's apartment over the course of a few months.
Speaking about the new release in a press statement, Giannascoli said: "every song is coming from a different place. It branches off in all these directions, but it has its own sound. It's not something I do intentionally, but I'm the common thread."
Beach Music is out 9 October. It's his seventh record since 2010, and follows last year's DSU, which was released by Lucky Number to significant acclaim. Pre-orders via Bandcamp come with a limited edition cassette version of the album, with vinyl pre-orders coming with an exclusive bootleg LP called Alex G Live At The Headroom.
Stream "Bug" below, and check out the album's tracklist and Giannascoli's brief UK/EU tour afterwards.
