Aldous Harding stunned End Of The Road into silence

New Zealand's Aldous Harding dropped almost every jaw during her set at the Big Top at End Of The Road Festival.
The 4AD-signed singer/songwriter played a spine-tingling collection of songs from recent label debut Party and her self-titled debut proper with little fanfare. Backed by sparse electronics and synthetic beats, the guitarist conjured immense waves of emotion - with those in attendence awed to the extent you could hear a pin drop - preferring to let the music speak for itself. When the cathartic noises stop, the crowd explodes into applause and a cavalcade of whoops; although muted, the Big Top is evidently impressed.
End Of The Road 2017 continues tonight with a headline set from Mac DeMarco on the Woods Stage.
