Alabama Shakes announce new LP Sound & Color, unleash two new tracks
Alabama Shakes have announced the release of their sophomore LP Sound & Color, and two brand new tracks, "Don't Wanna Fight" and "Future People".
Lead singer/guitarist said of their new record's creation:
"We took our time to write this record, and I’m really glad we did. We were able to sit down and think about what’s exciting to us. This record is full of genre-bending songs.”
The time around the group plan to take big departures from their sounds on their first outing, at least in some parts. Expect psych-rock wig-outs, full-throttle garage-pop and deeper forays into their bluesy roots.
Sound & Color is the follow-up to 2012 debut Boys & Girls, which was nominated for four Grammy Awards, and went to the Top Three in the UK. It's set for release on 20 April on Rough Trade.
The band will also headline the Friday night at this year's Great Escape Festival in Brighton.
