FKA Twigs, Wolf Alice, and Enter Shikari among big winners at AIM Independent Music Awards 2015
The AIM Independent Music Awards 2015 winners have been revealed, with FKA Twigs, Wolf Alice, Swans, and Enter Shikari among the big winners.
Twigs triuphed her the Independent Track of the Year category, while Wolf Alice were named Independent Breakthrough of the Year, and Swans the Hardest Working Band. Independent Album of the Year was Enter Shikari's The Mindsweeper.
Erased Tapes and Transgressive also scooped best label awards, with Young Fathers taking home the Best Difficult Second Album gong.
Our Label Of The Year 2014, Transgressive Records, won the AIM Independent Label Of The Year award, beating the likes of Epitaph, Erased Tapes (who won Best Small Label), Heavenly, and Planet Mu.
This year's winners were unveiled at a sold-out ceremony hosted by XFM’s John Kennedy and Radio 1’s Alice Levine at The Brewery in Clerkenwell on 8 September. The official charity is Help Musicians UK, which supports musicians of all ages at every stage of their career, "from emerging professionals needing help, to established musicians who’ve hit a crisis, long-term illness or are reaching retirement."
