Adele's 30 becomes top-selling album of 2021 in the US after just three days
Adele's fourth album 30 has already become the biggest-selling album of 2021 in the US, despite being released last Friday (19 November).
As Billboard reports, Adele's long-awaited fourth album, according to "initial reports to MRC Data", sold over 500,000 copies in the US from last Friday (19 November) to Sunday (21 November), making it the top-selling album of 2021 in the US.
The numbers also mean 30 has beat 2020's biggest seller - Taylor Swift's Evermore - which saw 462,000 copies sold in the week ending 18 November.
Yesterday (22 November) the Official Charts Company also shared news of 30's progress in the UK, revealing that Adele's new album is outperforming the rest of the Top 40 combined, and in the midweek album chart 30 has 167,000 chart sales, which is close behind ABBA's Voyage, which saw 204,000 chart sales in its opening week earlier this month.
According to the piece, three of Adele's 30 songs are also heading for the top three spots in the Singles Chart. "Easy On Me" is predicted to spend a sixth week at Number One, while "Oh My God" and "My Little Love" look set to take the Number Two and Number Three spots.
