Adele's 21 has just left the charts for the first time
Adele is a massively popular artist - it's been obvious for years - but it's still staggering when you realise just how goddamn popular she actually is.
Adele's record-breaking (even saying 'record-breaking' kinda feels like an undersell) second album 21, has only just left the US charts. 21 was released in January 2011, back during Barack Obama's first term as President. Ed Sheeran hadn't even released a debut album.
In the (very nearly) seven years since, it's not dipped out of the Top 200 best-selling records in the USA.
Adele's '21' is not listed on the Billboard 200 for the first time since its release, leaving the chart after 353 weeks.

An impressive feat for sure, but Adele's got nothing on Bob Marley, Johnny Mathis, Journey, or the original cast of My Fair Lady. The top dog in this endurance challenge comes from psychedelic masters Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon has a whopping 933 weeks racked up.
