Adele postpones Las Vegas residency 24 hours before opening night
Last night (20 January) Adele shared a video on socials announcing that her Las Vegas residency, due to kick off today (21 January), is being rescheduled.
Adele announced her Las Vegas residency, titled Weekends With Adele, in November. It was due to start this evening (21 January) at the Colosseum venue in Caesars Palace Hotel, Las Vegas, and run for four months.
In a tearful video shared on socials last night (20 January), Adele announced that the entire residency is having to be rescheduled due to COVID disrupting the production.
Adele said, "I’m so sorry but my show ain’t ready. We’ve tried absolutely everything that we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID. Half my crew, half my team are down with COVID, they still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show. And I can’t give you what I have right now and I’m gutted. I’m gutted and I’m sorry it’s so last minute."
She revealed that she and her team had "been awake for 30 hours" trying to sort everything out, and added, "I’m so upset and I’m really embarrassed and I’m so sorry to everyone that traveled again. I’m really, really sorry."
Adele concluded, "I’m so sorry. It’s been impossible, we’ve been up against so much and it just ain’t ready."
