Adele, James Bay, and Years & Years lead 2016 BRIT Award nominations
The full BRIT Awards 2016 nominations are in, with Adele, James Bay, and Years & Years gathering four nods each.
Foals, Wolf Alice, Aphex Twin, Laura Marling, Björk, Father John Misty and Jamie xx have also been nominated for awards.
The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Adele, Coldplay, Jess Glynne, Little Mix, and James Bay have been confirmed as performers at this year's ceremony.
Earlier this week the BRITs chairman Max Lousada announced that the awards will be paying tribute to David Bowie's "extraordinary life and work".
Speaking about this year's nominees, Lousada says: “The nominations show what a great year it’s been for British talent at all levels, from record-breaking previous BRIT Award winners to newer acts celebrating stellar debuts. Home-grown artists have not only dominated our own charts this year, they’ve won legions of fans the world over by representing British music at its best. We can look forward to a fantastic and hotly-contested Awards show this year.”
