Adele helps bring in £78 million turnover for XL Recordings

Despite no plans from the singer to release new material until next year, indie label XL Recordings are still riding high on the success of Adele‘s multi-award winning second album, 21.
The label has revealed a turnover of £78.6 million in 2012 and pre-tax profits of £25.4 million, according to The Telegraph, with much revenue reportedly generated by the singer.
The album reached number one in more than 30 countries and is the biggest seller of the 21st century, with a reported 26 million copies sold by the end of 2012.
With the record still proving successful for the company two years after its release, XL have noted that the industry as a whole seems to have turned a corner after years of decline.
