Adele and PJ Harvey to receive MBEs from the Queen this week
Earlier this year, both PJ Harvey and Adele were named in the 2013 Queen’s Birthday Honours List. Now, they’ll receive their awards later this week.
Both the two-time Mercury Prize winner and multi-platinum selling singer will pick up MBEs from the Queen on Thursday (19 December). They will be joined by artist Anish Kapoor, broadcaster Aled Jones and others.
Harvey began performing in her teens as part of Automatic Diamini – her first collaboration with John Parish, who she would work with numerous times over the years including her last record, 2011′s Let England Shake.
The 43-year old Dorset born songwriter and performer will receive the MBE for her services to music, recognising a 20-year career.
