Adam Buxton joined by Laura Davis and Mac DeMarco for podcast session at End Of The Road
Recording a podcast on the Comedy stage at End Of The Road, Adam Buxton was joined by Australian comedian Laura Davis and festival headliner Mac DeMarco.
"Have a smoke, take your clothes off, don't interfere with anyone else," Adam Buxton warned the crowd. After recording a sing along to his Ramble Chat jingle, and reading out a postcard delivered to the stage by End Of The Road's Secret Post Office from his dog, Rosie, it was down to serious business.
Using "a special PA that cuts out when things get boring," he introduced comedian Laura Davis to the stage. Over drinks of cold tea and amaretto the pair evaluated each others' jokes ("What's the drug of choice for the enlightened comedian? Wise crack") and discussed everything from stinging nettles through depression to blow jobs.
Later joined by Mac DeMarco, the conversation turned to the likes of Jonathan Richman and Steely Dan, being an analogue nerd, and an extended discussion about shit. The pair then offered annecdotes of the most stupid things they'd ever done, from licking frozen ice trays to using pre-used toilet paper (you guess which person did which).
Mac DeMarco perfomed two songs during the set: "Still Together" from second album 2, and the title track from his latest album This Old Dog.
