ActionAid launches emergency music network
In response to the tragic natural disasters that have plagued our planet in recent years, ActionAid are launching the world’s first emergency music network. ActionAid Live has been set up by the charity to bring together a selection of bands, musicians, venues and promoters who will, at a moment’s notice, be ready to help in a humanitarian crisis.
Speaking on behalf of the charity, ActionAid ambassador Huw Stephens said:
“When an emergency strikes – whether it’s an earthquake, flood or tsunami – we all want to do what we can to help. ActionAid Live brings together music fans, bands and promoters in a united effort to save lives both in those vital first few days following a disaster and in the long term.”
Those wishing to get involved can sign up today at actionaid.org.uk/live, current supporters include Everything Everything and Festival Republic.
