A Badge Of Friendship launch new music show on FUBAR Radio
Gig promoters-turned-PR collective A Badge Of Friendship is set to host a new music showcase on Internet radio station FUBAR.
Originally formed in Glasgow, but now based in London, the trio, comprising Claire Lim, Paul McCallum and Ed Williams, are to present a show on Monday evenings about new music - but not just the latest single from a band that's been around the bloc a few times, genuine new new music.
As well as making lots of lovely noises available to the masses, the three will also feature a range of friends and guests, with the likes of The Thick Of It creator Armando Ianucci, Idlewild, Torche, former Oceansize frontman Mike Vennart and more already confirmed to be appearing.
Speaking about the project, Lim said "I used to love the feeling of uncovering hidden gems in record stores and getting recommendations from friends, that’s how I discovered some of my favourite bands and I hope A Badge of Friendship’s new show on FUBAR Radio recreates that essence of new music discovery." McCallum added that he "couldn't be more excited about this," and explained that "the whole foundations of A Badge of Fiendship were built upon championing fresh new music from up and coming bands and, therefore, being given a platform by FUBAR to spread the love to an even bigger audience is a genuine privilege. If I had known something like this would happen as a 10 year old recording a 'radio show' on cassette with my next door neighbour, I wouldn't have believed it. Now, to have the opportunity to captivate the nation with my (ahem) dulcet tones, while promoting great new music is just superb."
The inaugural edition of the show will be from 7pm-9pm on Monday, 13 April.
