65daysofstatic and We Are Scientists announced as first headliners for Leicester's Handmade Festival
65daysofstatic and We Are Scientists have been named as the first headliners for Leicester's Handmade Festival next Spring.
The festival, curated by "Leicester’s independent venues and promoters", will feature three days of music, comedy, art, photography, performance, and film.
This year's mammoth event saw sets from Eagulls, Bo Bingen, TOY, Slaves, and Future of the Left.
Indie institutions Big Scary Monsters and Alcopop, along with Last.fm, are partnering with the festival.
Talking about the fest, co-organiser John Helps says: "It is a DIY festival - created and curated with a real love and attention to detail. It has to beg, borrow, and steal in order to exist, but consequently it’s been easy for the whole city’s creative community to get behind and drive it forward together. Without the care and support of so many volunteers and people with incredible imagination and ambition, it wouldn’t ever have existed - and it only continues to do so because of them."
Handmade Festival Leicester takes place 29 April – 1 May at the city's O2 Academy.
