2 Chainz denies armed robbery despite police confirming it
Following yesterday’s news that U.S rapper 2 Chainz was robbed at gunpoint in San Francisco on Sunday, police have reportedly confirmed the incident took place- even if the hip-hop star himself has offered a confusing denial on Twitter.
After TMZ broke the news on Monday, 2 Chainz- born Tauheed Epps- took to Twitter to address his followers, offering a two-point rebuttal of the story and an admission of what the rapper and his entourage might have been doing at the time:
Rule #1 if a rapper gets robbed people usually post items that has been taken. Rings, chains, watch , money etc. 2 answer that question

Rule#2 if a rapper gets shot he usually go to hospital or dies .

Rule# 3 we definitely got geeked up in San Fran , best smoke in the world. 2 blessed 2 stress

Now, Celebrity news blog Hollywood Life claim that it has contacted a spokesperson for the San Francisco Police Department who confirmed that police did indeed respond to a “shots fired” call at 4:36 PM (PDT). Similarly, Billboard reports via a Sgt. Dennis Toomer that Epps’s wallet and cellphone were stolen by suspects who approached the rapper and his five-strong entourage, pulled a handgun on them and then fled in a grey sedan.
Not to be outdone, Epps then took to his Twitter to retweet another journalist’s claim that police had refuted the report, though this too seems to be a false lead, as it would appear that police had initially given media outlets this denial in error.
