2 Chainz arrested after 9-hour stand-off with police
Rapper 2 Chainz was arrested for “interfering with official process” in Oklahoma on Wednesday, along with 11 other men, after refusing to let police enter his tour bus and search for drugs.
The hip-hop star’s tour bus was stopped because of a broken tailight and when the police officer asked the driver to step outside the vehicle, the officer found “evidence of drug use”. The same officer requested to search inside the vehicle but the rapper’s entourage then locked the doors from the inside, insisting on seeing a search warrant before they let the officer in.
That was when the stand off began and at 7:30 am, the tour bus was towed to a local police training centre and officers finally drew the search warrant and arrested the star and his crew.
On Twitter, 2 Chainz claims that nothing was found on the bus but police claim that drugs were found in the vehicle but detectives are trying to establish to whom the drugs belonged to before 2 Chainz and his entourage will be charged.
The rapper tweeted on Thursday:
