2.5 million people tuned in to watch the limited hour of Rolling Stones Glastonbury coverage on the BBC this weekend.
The broadcaster were left impressed with the figure, huge for this kind of event, with 1.4 million viewers also tuning in to watch the Arctic Monkeys’ headline set on Friday evening.
Meanwhile, there was an overall 87% increase of viewers which enjoyed the last Glasto content from 2011, as live streams were offered by the BBC over the weekend.
The increase of viewers maybe a result of the increase amount of content available which some people have raved about he unprecedented living-room access, while others have moaned about the choice of acts screened on the main channels and dominated the schedules over the weekend.
