Lana Del Rey jokes about Glastonbury Festival: “It’s worth it even if you get the power cut”
Yesterday evening (9 July), Lana Del Rey headlined the final evening of BST Hyde Park, with a performance that made reference to her Glastonbury blunder.
After arriving on stage 30 minutes late to her set at Glastonbury Festival 2023, Lana Del Rey's set was cut short, leaving her to perform an acapella version of "Video Games" with those in the crowd who decided to stick it out and wait for her.
Coming on stage 20 minutes later than her scheduled performance time, Del Rey gave a nod to the incident at Glastonbury by bringing her hairdresser out to finish her hair as she performed. At the festival, she blamed her delay on her hair taking too long – "If they cut power, they cut power. I’m super fucking sorry, my hair takes so long to do," she said.

Introducing the track "Diet Mountain Dew", Lana said: “I think this is where I got cut off last time. Sorry about that." She also gestured to the crew at the side of the stage, jokingly warning them “Don’t do it”. She then went on to finish the set with "Summertime Sadness" and title track from her latest album, "Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd".
Elsewhere in the set, she played the likes of "A&W", "Blue Jeans", "Born To Die", and "Chemtrails Over The Country Club" which came with new lyrics about an ex who was unfaithful.
I’m still shook when Lana said, “He's born in December and got married when we were still together. He got married when we were in couple's therapy together. Sometimes I wonder what his wife would think if she knew.” Like I & everyone else was flabbergasted #LanaDelRey #hydepark pic.twitter.com/6u4Bg0mrpX
