LA Priest announces brand new EP, La Fusion
LA Priest – AKA Sam Eastgate – has announced his forthcoming EP, La Fusion, alongside the brand new single, "City Warm Heart".
Following the release of his third studio album, Fase Luna, last year LA Priest has unveiled details of his forthcoming release, La Fusion.
Speaking of the new single, he says: “I wrote this song in the Costa Rican jungle as I pictured myself returning to tour the cities of the world again,” says LA Priest. “It’s sort of a mantra to face the outside world from somewhere like that.” Expanding on the accompanying video, he adds: “I thought it would be nice to show a bit of my recording set up and the way I record a song. This video is really exactly what I did while making this song recreated as well as I could so it’s more of an honest video than my usual sort of thing."
La Fusion was written towards the tail-end of Eastgate’s time living in the Costa Rican jungle where he also wrote the bulk of his acclaimed 2023 album, Fase Luna, and recorded upon his return in his garden shed studio in Wales using his handmade drum machine, GENE. “You cannot blend fusion with something else,” Sam reflects on his return. “Fusion itself is the blending of realities. These are ideas I couldn’t have recorded in the jungle. Maybe they are metropolis songs. I took ideas written outside looking inward and finished them inside thinking outward.”
LA Priest will be taking La Fusion on a UK and European tour this May and June which includes a date at London’s Number 90 Live on 6 June.
