Kojaque returns with new track "BAMBI"
Kojaque's new track "BAMBI" is his first release of 2023, which features Gotts Street Park.
The track launches with yet another visual collaboration between Kojaque and long time co-director Sam McGrath. 'BAMBI" marks his first material to follow 2021 debut album Town’s Dead - which received widespread acclaim and charted in the top five charts in Ireland.
Kojaque describes the track as being out the one that got away. "It’s about missing your chance and what remains after that. I went out to West London to meet Tom from Gotts Street Park, who I was a huge fan of from their work with Celeste and Rosie Lowe," he explains.
"It was around Covid times, and I had come back to London early after Christmas because our landlord was evicting us. The melody came there and then, and I finished the verses on the train back East. I had Ryan Hargadon play the sax line over it to tie everything together, but the mood of the instrumental fit the lyrics perfectly. It’s one of my favourite songs I’ve written.”
"BAMBI" is out now via Soft Boy Records.
