King Krule tour-exclusive flexi disc songs appear online
Some new King Krule songs have appeared online, lifted from his tour-exclusive flexi discs.
Currently in the midst of The Sssh Tour – a series of intimate dates across the EU and UK – King Krule, aka Archy Marshall, has been treating fans with new merchandise in the form of tour-exclusive flexidiscs featuring new music.
Stereogum reports that two songs, "Flimsier" and "it's all soup now", have already found their way online. Though the former has since been removed from YouTube.
On a Reddit thread discussing the flexi disc songs, fans are speculating about whether the songs will be exclusive demos, or end up on the next King Krule album. One user wrote: "People think that some of these songs could just be demos and that Archy is putting some [songs] like "Flimsier" and "Soup" onto the record. But officially, Archy put on his Insta story that these are never to be released."
Another user adds that there are actually three songs that have been leaked, including "Time For Slurp", and there are another two more waiting to be discovered: "They come sealed in a package and because of that you don't know which song you've bought. There are 5 different ones, we now have 3."
These flexi disc songs are the first signs of new music from King Krule since the 2022 remix of "Midnight Sun" by Nilüfer Yanya, and his fourth studio album Man Alive! which was released in 2020.
King Krule recently released the audio from his 2019 short film Hey World! on streaming services for the first time, three years after its debut.
King Krule continues The Sssh Tour as he performs an intimate stripped back set at Institute of Contemporary Arts, London, on 31 March.
