Kim Petras announces new single "Alone" featuring Nicki Minaj
After teasing fans in March to a snippet of a song with the caption "alone?", Kim Petras has finally confirmed the new single.
Taking to her socials on Thursday (6 April) evening, Petras announced that she will be releasing her Nicki Minaj collaboration next week. The track "Alone" appears to sample Alice Deejay's 1999 club banger "Better Off Alone".
Petras and Minaj have expressed love for each other over the years, so this collab will not come as a surprise for many fans. In 2011, Petras shared a cover of Minaj's "Super Bass", which included a mash-up of Ben E King's "Stand By Me", and in 2019, she called Minaj "a queen" whilst expressing her love for "Roman Holiday".
Last month it was revealed that Petras has a new album landing this summer, which will follow 2019's Turn Off the Light and Clarity projects.
Earlier this week, Petras’ GRAMMY-Award winning collaboration with Sam Smith “Unholy” surpassed one billion streams on Spotify.
"Alone" is out on 21 March.
