Killer Mike shoots his shot with Taylor Swift: "If she’s into poly, me and my wife need a third"
Making his first press appearance since he was arrested at the Grammy Awards, Killer Mike visited The Daily Show, to discuss his wins on the night.
During the 2024 Grammy Awards, Killer Mike took the win for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “Scientists & Engineers". He also won Best Rap Album for Michael – which was his first solo album since 2012's R.A.P. Music and Killer Mike Chronicles. Unfortunately his trio of wins was overshadowed by news that he had been arrested at the ceremony.
He has since shared a statement saying that there was a miscommunication with "an over-zealous security guard", and he is confident that he will be cleared of all charges. Speaking with host Jordan Klepper about other big wins on the night, they of course landed on a conversation about Taylor Swift.
“Shouts out to Taylor, man,” Killer Mike said, and also gave a nod to her current partner, Travis Kelce. “God damn, she won at the Grammys. Her boyfriend won the Chiefs. If she’s into poly, me and my wife need a third. We’re trying to win again!”
Keppler then asked if that is something that his wife would be interested in, to which Killer Mike replied: “I feel I could pull it off. Only problem is my wife’s good with a gun. She doesn’t agree. But I’ll keep trying for all the men out there!"
