Kid Cudi says he's "nearing the end" of his music career
Kid Cudi has hinted that his retirement from music could be on the horizon, by saying he's "kind of nearing the end on all things Kid Cudi, I think."
In a new Hot Ones episode shared yesterday (6 October), host Sean Evans asked Kid Cudi about his desire to not be performing on stage late into his 40's and in response, Kid Cudi revealed that his retirement from music could happen soon.
Kid Cudi said, "I just don’t know if I wanna do music, drop albums for too much longer, you know? I’m kind of nearing the end on all things Kid Cudi, I think."
"I’m really curious to see what else I can do," Cudi continued. "I was thinking about this - and this is like a wacky idea I had years ago, but it would be cool to, like, one day be a kindergarten teacher. And just do that for a couple years. Like, when I'm, like, 50 ... And I just, like, infect the youth with that freshness. You can get them young, and then those kids will just sprinkle the freshness to the world, and I'll just be like, 'Yes! Yes!'"
His latest album Entergalactic arrived a week ago alongside an animated Netflix series of the same name that features characters voiced by Timothée Chalamet, Laura Harrier, Vanessa Hudgens, Christopher Abbott, 070 Shake, Jaden Smith, Keith David, Teyana Taylor, Arturo Castro and Macaulay Culkin.
