Kelly Clarkson unveils double singles "mine" and "me"
The two tracks are the first taste of music taken from her forthcoming tenth studio album chemistry.
In late March, Kelly Clarkson announced an intimate Las Vegas residency alongside news that she would be releasing a brand new album.
"me" is an anthem of self-empowerment co-written with GRAMMY-nominated rising star GAYLE, whilst "mine" is a song of contrast. Speaking of how the songs work together, Clarkson says: “We decided to release "mine" and "me" at the same time because I didn’t want to release just one song to represent an entire album or relationship. There are many stages of grief and loss on this album. Each song is a different stage and emotional state.”
Whilst Clarkson released her Kellyoke EP in 2022, and her Christmas album When Christmas Comes Around... in 2021, the forthcoming release will be her first full-length of original music since 2017's Meaning of Life.
Speaking of the new album, she says: “Having chemistry with someone is an incredible and overwhelming feeling. It’s like you have no choice in the matter. You are just drawn to each other. This can be good and bad. This album takes you down every path that chemistry could lead you down."
chemistry arrives on 23 June and is available for pre-order now via Atlantic Records.
