Kate Bush reflects on "Running Up That Hill" success, Ukraine war and Queen's death in Christmas message to fans
Kate Bush has updated her site with a Christmas message to fans, which sees her reflect on the new success of "Running Up That Hill", as well as some of this year's biggest events such as the Ukraine war and the Queen's death.
Earlier today (22 December) Kate Bush shared a new Christmas message to fans via her site, and as well as highlighting the "horrific war in Ukraine, the famines, the droughts, the floods" and the Queen's death, Bush wrote about her own year, revealing that she's still reeling from "from the success of "RUTH", being the No 1 track of this summer. What an honour!"
Bush continued, "It was really exciting to see it doing so well globally, but especially here in the UK and Australia; and also to see it making it all the way to No 3 in the US. It was such a great feeling to see so many of the younger generation enjoying the song. It seems that quite a lot of them thought I was a new artist! I love that! Again, thank you so much to everyone who supported the track and made it a hit."
Earlier this month Bush's "Running Up That Hill" made TikTok's top 10 songs of 2022 UK list.
Back in September Dutch Mustard covered "Running Up That Hill" live in session for Best Fit. The following month, James Heather played a cover of Bush's "Among Angels" during his Best Fit live session.
