Kanye West locked out of Twitter account following antisemitic tweet
Kanye West, now known as Ye, has been locked out of his Twitter account after violating the platform's rules with an antisemitic tweet over the weekend.
Just one day after Meta restricted Ye's access to Instagram after violating policy guidelines, Ye has also been locked out of his Twitter account for posting an antisemitic tweet in which he said he was "going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE".
Ye's tweet read: "I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda."
Currently, his Twitter account shows the tweet was removed for violating the "Twitter Rules", and according to BuzzFeed News, a Twitter spokesperson said, "The account in question has been locked due to a violation of Twitter’s policies."
Ye returned to Twitter for the first time since November 2020 on Saturday (8 October), shortly after having his Instagram account restricted. According to Pitchfork, Meta is stopping Ye from posting new content, sending messages and commenting after breaking their rules.
Jack Antonoff, Diane Warren, and organisations including the Black Jewish Entertainment Alliance and the Anti-Defamation League have since responded to Ye's recent posts.

Also a little reminder Kanye, using the word death and Jews in the same sentence when 6,000,000 Jews were murdered,2 out of 3 European Jews, is vile abhorrent and irresponsible+ U shoukd be banned for life everywhere

Ye’s recent statements about the Jewish community are hurtful, offensive, and wrong. They perpetuate stereotypes that have been the basis for discrimination and violence against Jews for thousands of years. Words like this tear at the fabric of the Black-Jewish relationship. pic.twitter.com/1H5R0iEDJ0

Power. Disloyalty. Greed. Deicide. Blood. Denial. Anti-Zionism. All of these are antisemitic tropes that we break down in our #AntisemitismUncovered Guide at https://t.co/1D3LOM8xXQ. Many of these myths have influenced @KanyeWest's comments recently, and it's dangerous. https://t.co/fKQLPFkDR2
