Jin of BTS has started his mandatory military service
BTS’ Jin is the first member of the group to begin his mandatory military service in South Korea.
30-year-old Jin, the oldest member of BTS, shared a photo of his new haircut before enlisting today (13 December). According to the BBC, Jin will complete five weeks' training at a bootcamp near the North Korean border, before being assigned to a frontline unit for 18 months.

Back in October it was revealed that all members will move forward with completing their mandatory military service in South Korea, and are planning to reunite as a group in 2025.
South Korean men aged 18-30 have to spend a year-and-a-half in the military to contribute to the country’s readiness for a potential conflict with North Korea.
The same month, Jin released his new solo single “The Astronaut”, which was co-written with Coldplay.
Earlier this month BTS’ RM released his debut solo album Indigo.
