Jesy Nelson returns with new single "Bad Thing"
"Bad Thing" is Jesy Nelson's second solo single – the first as an independent artist after splitting with Polydor last summer.
To accompany the release of "Bad Thing", Nelson shares the official video which was directed by Charlie Sarsfield (Stormzy, Yungblud, Mabel).
The single was produced by BRIT-nominated duo Loose Change (Rita Ora, Noah Cyrus) and co-written with Grammy-nominated songwriter Tayla Parx (Ariana Grande, BTS and Justin Bieber).
Speaking of the release, Nelson says: "I don’t feel like anyone’s heard this side of me before, it’s a real, raw, honest, vulnerable side to me”.
Spending the last 18 months finding herself as solo artist, Nelson has found empowerment: “I honestly love being independent. I feel so free. I’m truly being authentically myself,” she says, before advising other to “Write your own rules, take control and always speak your truth”.
"Bad Thing" is Nelson's first release since the Nicki Minaj collaboration on her debut single "Boyz".
