Japanese Breakfast covers Brandi Carlile's "The Story"
Japanese Breakfast has recorded a cover of Brandi Carlile's "The Story" which is the soundtrack for The North Face's It’s More Than a Jacket campaign.
"The Story" originally appeared on Carlile's 2007 second album of the same name, and Japanese Breakfast's version of the song follows her Korean version of "Be Sweet" featuring Seo So Neon's So!YoON! that arrived in July.
Pitchfork reports that Japanese Breakfast's Michelle Zauner said of the cover, "It was a joy to take on the iconic ballad, "The Story". I think the song captures the depths of human tenacity and the spirit of the journey so well. We wanted to keep our rendition sparse and acoustic. A beautiful string arrangement written by Craig Hendrix and performed by our violinist, Molly Germer, and Quartet 121 soars in to sweep you up to the mountains."
Japanese Breakfast's cover of "The Story" is out now.
