James Murphy shares tribute to late business partner during LCD Soundsystem show
During their headline performance at All Points East Festival on Friday evening, LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy paid tribute to a close friend.
Ahead of performing "Someone Great", Murphy addressed the crowd: "Yesterday, we lost a very dear friend of ours, Justin Chearno. We’re all fucking destroyed. We’re trying our best. We love him and miss him. This sucks. Thank you for being here and being a part of it."
Murphy and Chearno co-founded The Four Horsemen – a restaurant and wine bar in New York. Later in the set, they also dedicated "New York, I Love You but You're Bringing Me Down" to Chearno.
