Indie-folk duo lilo release new single, "Back On My Feet"
Indie-folk duo and lifelong friends lilo are sharing the brand new double single, "Back On My Feet" b/w "Addicted To Love", ahead of their first ever headline UK tour later this month.
“"Back On My Feet" is lilo coming of age (this time the age is 26), and coming of age again, and again," says Christie Gardner and Helen Dixon.
"The song is a testament to the impermanence of ‘figuring it out’ and ‘building yourself up again’. It’s something we have to do every day and the work is never done. This might seem exhausting but the song springs with joy and relief at the realisation that it is actually totally fine. We’re happily putting our blindfolds on in this song and running as fast as we can into the next fall. We wanted to let go with this song, to just be rockstars together for 3 and a half minutes.”
The B-side to "Back On My Feet" is a cover of Robert Palmer’s legendary track "Addicted To Love" in which lilo delve into the heart of the 80s stomper to expose a tender underbelly, forging it into a surprisingly heartfelt and emotive ride.
Earlier this year the band released their sophomore EP, I Don’t Like My Chances On The Outside, via Dalliance Recordings (Francis of Delirium, Gia Margaret, HighSchool). Across the five tracks, lilo present a sparkling cycle of acoustic-leaning hymnals with ethereal lyrical and sonic content, exploring the panic, anxiety and love of twenty-somethings.
lilo began recording with close friend and collaborator Joseph Futak in August 2020 and have worked closely with him ever since.
