Iggy Azalea has officially shelved her fifth studio album
In a statement posted to her socials, Iggy Azalea has revealed that she has stopped working on her fifth album, and plans to pursue a career in design and creative direction.
Iggy Azalea's fifth studio album was set to follow 2021's aptly titled The End of an Era, 2019's In My Defense, 2014's Reclassified and her debut The New Classic. In January 2023, she announced her return, but did not provide any further details on the forthcoming release until sharing the standalone single, "Money Come", which was her first release in two years.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Azalea has revealed that she isn't going to finish the album because, after a few months hiatus focusing her attention on a different creative venture, she hasn't "felt the urge to go back to it".
"I’ve always been someone who finds my joy in being creative & seeing my ideas come to life. For a long time I used music to deliver my big crazy ideas to the world," her statement began. "In truth what I’ve known for a long time is that I feel more passionately about design and creative direction than I do about song writing... That’s why I want to let you know that I’m not going to finish my album. It’s been paused for a few months while I was giving direction for a different project & in truth I just haven’t felt the urge to go back to it. I feel really happy & passionate in my day to day life when my minds focused on that and so I want to stick to what’s undeniably best for me."
This is gonna be long….

Azalea notes that she will soon be sharing some of the things that she has been involved in making, and hopes that fans will see her "quirk and humour" in her creative endeavours. "I know for some fans this probably makes you feel a little deflated – I'm sorry to let you down. But, it's more important I don't let myself down. I hope you'll understand."
Last year, she announced a forthcoming coffee table book featuring select uncensored shots from her OnlyFans account, called Hotter Than Hell. One fan replied to the news of her musical hiatus asking whether this was still in the works, to which she replied: "Yes it’s just taking longer because I spent all that unexpected time sick and need to compile a bit more before it’s completed."
Iggy Azalea is yet to share a release date for the forthcoming coffee table book, Hotter Than Hell.
