Watch Ichiko Aoba cover Radiohead's "Creep" in session at End of the Road Festival
Japanese folk singer and songwriter Ichiko Aoba stunned a packed crowd into silence when she dropped in a calming and nuanced cover of Radiohead's "Creep" among a secret set on the piano stage at last year's End of the Road Festival.
The song was part of Best Fit's secret sessions, which also saw performances from Gruff Rhys and Bill Ryder-Jones, Yo La Tengo, Jess Williamson, Clarissa Connelly, Julianna Riolino, Master Peace, Sarah Meth, and Jeffrey Martin.
Watch the secret session in full below.
Aoba is a few weeks from delivering new album Luminescent Creatures, her follow up to 2020's Windswept Adan and her first new record in five years. The supporting tour kicks off in Hong Kong on 24 February and she'll hit the UK at the end of March for a show at the Barbican in London, with Manchester, Gateshead and Scotland dates at the start of April.

Best Fit's secret sessions have become a key part of End of the Road each year, bringing together artists from across the line-up in a series of short sets, exlusive cover, collaborations, and live interviews and Q&As. Past guests have included Lucy Dacus, St Vincent, Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, Moses Sumney, Laura Marling, Patti Smith, and Frightened Rabbit - who played a now iconic version of "The Modern Leper".
We're expecting the next lineup announcement for End of the Road any day now, adding to an already incredible set of headliners for their 2025 event, including Self Esteem, Caribou, Sharon Van Etten and Father John Misty.
