Holly Macve announces her forthcoming EP, Time Is Forever
Irish-born and Yorkshire-raised songwriter Holly Macve has confirmed details of a forthcoming EP, Time Is Forever.
The five-track release – including the new single, "Suburban House" featuring vocals from Lana Del Rey – arrives as her first new project in almost three years, and what she describes as her “most honest storytelling to date”, marking a new beginning for Macve.
Speaking of the news, Holly says: “Time is Forever is the start of a new era for me. During the making of it I spent a lot of days and nights alone in strange cigarette stained motels, dreaming big and overcoming certain inhibitions. I put a lot of my soul into these tunes and I’m super excited to share them and play them live.”
Macve and Del Rey’s collaborative single is now part of the soundtrack to the acclaimed new Apple TV series The Buccaneers, featuring alongside fellow celebrated female artists including Gracie Abrams, Miya Folick and Sharon Van Etten. The series is streaming now via Apple TV.
Speaking about the track, Macve explained: “I sometimes feel my intuition wrote this song for me. I was temporarily living in a Suburban house from the 50’s, on the outskirts of West London. It was like a time capsule and hadn’t been changed since the 70’s. There was a beautiful old piano there and one day I sat down and the song came to me unexpectedly all at once. The song made perfect sense to me only a week later… “
