Hayley Williams teases "Misery Business" demo
Yesterday (12 June) marked the 16th anniversary of Paramore's second studio album, Riot!
Released in 2007, Riot! was the follow-up to Paramore's debut album, All We Know Is Falling, and contained their classic hits such as "Misery Business", "That's What You Get", and "CrushCrushCrush". The album debuted at number one on the UK Rock & Metal albums chart, and number 15 on the US Billboard 200.
In an Instagram story on the album's 16th anniversary, Hayley Williams delivered a heartfelt statement about the album, underneath a photo of herself and drummer Zac Farro.
Focusing on the album's biggest hit single, "Misery Business", she wrote: "We recorded the first demo of Misery Business on our first trip to Japan at a soundcheck in Tokyo or Osaka... Zac is maybe 15 here and I'm 17. He was 16 when we recorded RIOT! and that's exactly how old that album is today".

After discussing her love for Japan, and calling it her "favourite place in the world", Williams continued: "Happy anni to the album that gave us many (still not enough) chances to go back to Japan. And yes, we do have the soundcheck demo somewhere... that's for another time".
Paramore had previously removed "Misery Business" from their set in 2018 after receiving backlash over a lyric, but after a four year hiatus, they brought it back. Since then, Williams has performed it with Billie Eilish at Coachella, and whilst Paramore often bring up fans to perform the classic with them, they've recently been joined by PinkPantheress at Austin City Limits, and Lil Uzi Vert at Madison Square Garden.
