Harry Styles made the UK's biggest album and song of 2022
It's been revealed that Harry Styles made the UK's biggest single and album of 2022.
The Official Charts Company reports that Styles' "As It Was" was the UK's biggest song of 2022, having sold 1.57 million chart units since its release in April 2022. Styles song was also the most-streamed song of the year (with over 180.9 million audio and video streams), and the best-selling song across combined physical and digital sales with 65,000.
Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" placed second, followed by Sheeran and Fireboy DML's "Peru", Cat Burns' "Go", Sheeran's "Shivers" and Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill".
Styles' Harry's House album has also been named the UK's biggest album of 2022, having amassed 460,000 UK chart units over the year, with 160,000 of those being pure sales (150,000 physical, 10,000 downloads).
Sheeran's = album followed in second place, while Taylor Swift's Midnights placed third. The Weeknd's The Highlights, and Olivia Rodrigo's Sour also featured in the top five.
Harry's House also placed second on the best-selling vinyl albums of 2022 list, behind Swift's Midnights, which sold over 89,000 vinyl copies.
Vinyl album sales have increased for the 15th consecutive year in 2022, to the highest level since 1990.
