Halsey is set to voice Sally in Danny Elfman’s The Nightmare Before Christmas live concert
In celebration of the film's 30th anniversary, Danny Elfman is set to take Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas back to the stage at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles just in time for Halloween.
It’s impossible to believe it has been thirty years since Tim Burton made our strange little musical,” he said in a statement. “What a tremendous thrill it is to perform it live in concert again at the iconic Hollywood Bowl.”
Elfman is set to reprise his role of Jack Skellington to perform the music he wrote for the 1993 classic. A special guest during the trio of shows will include Catherine O’Hara, who voiced Sally in the original film. Halsey will be singing the role of Sally on the first two nights, whilst O’Hara takes it over on the third and final evening.
Other guests include Fred Armisen as Lock and Ken Page as Oogie Boogie. Conductor John Mauceri will once again lead a full orchestra and choir to support the performance. Alongside her role as Sally on the final evening, O’Hara will also step into the role of Shock, which will be sung on the previous two nights by Lindhome.

The last time a performance of The Nightmare Before Christmas was held in Los Angeles was two years ago at the Banc of California Stadium, where Billie Eillish was cast to sing "Sally's Song" across the two nights. Meanwhile, last year, during a performance at the OVO Arena Wembley, Phoebe Bridgers was cast as Sally.
Halsey hinted at the potential of a forthcoming album via a post on their social media. “Not pictured: me splitting myself in two every day so that I can give you my deepest wounds (and a handful of perfect joys) for the 5th time in 10 years,” she wrote. This follows her previously mentioning that she was making her new album with “no strict genre parameters”, following her departure from Capitol Records.
