Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash features on Ryan Gosling's song for the Barbie soundtrack
Producer Mark Ronson took to his socials to share a snippet of Ryan Gosling's highly anticipated track which features in Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie.
A collaboration which nobody could've expected, Ronson reveals that Guns N/ Roses guitarist Slash also features on the song, "I'm Just Ken".
"Beyond proud and excited to share "I'm Just Ken" – a song written by myself & Andrew Wyatt performed by the monster vocal talent of Ryan Gosling, featuring Slash," his post read.
“We hadn’t met before, we just went into the studio and talked about music,” Ronson said in an interview with Variety about recording with Gosling. “As he started to get warmed up, I was like, ‘Oh my god, this guy is gonna murder this song.’ And of course he would. He’s Ken. Who would understand this song better than him?”

He also went on to describe working with Slash, who he calls an "all-time hero" – "I sent him the song and he was like, ‘This is a good song… cool, I’ll play on it.’ He kills it, he plays the solo at the end and the rhythm parts. It’s wonderful.”
Earlier this week, Sam Smith announced their song for the movie, which is also written from the perspective of Ken. "Man I Am" joins Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For?", “Speed Drive” by Charli XCX, PinkPantheress’ track “Angel", global recording artist KAROL G’s high-energy anthem, “WATATI" (featuring Aldo Ranks) and the lead single “Dance The Night” from GRAMMY Award-winning global superstar Dua Lipa, who also makes a special appearance in the film.
The Barbie soundtrack is set for release on 21 July to coincide with the movie.
