GUM shares new track, "Music Is Bigger Than Hair"
Today, multi-instrumentalist GUM – AKA Jay Watson of Pond and touring member of Tame Impala – offers another taste of his forthcoming full-length album, Saturnia.
Remarking on the track, Watson says, “"Music Is Bigger Than Hair" is a funny title, I think it’s referring to me getting older and feeling my mortality a little bit more, or at least my worth as a musician being tied up in the way I look. Feeling like it’s affecting my music, as if it has anything to do with it. Musically it’s one of my favourites because of Jesse Kotansky's beautiful string arrangement.”
The new single comes as a follow-up to recent releases, "Would It Pain You To See?" and "Race To The Air".
"Music Is Bigger than Hair" is out now. GUM's sixth studio album, Saturnia, arrives on 15 September via Spinning Top Records, and is available to pre-order.
