Grove links up with London punk-rap duo Bob Vylan on "STINKIN RICH FAMILIES"
Today, alongside the new single, Grove has announced their new EP P*W*R.
On “STINKIN RICH FAMILIES”, Grove takes a hit at rich institutions. The single follows last month's anti-monarchy track, "BIG BOOTS".
“The "Cost of living crisis" is a phrase of pure propaganda. Repeated to us to take away blame from the greedy families who've syphoned off hundreds of millions of pounds of public money for themselves & their friends," says Grove. "Lyrical titan Bobby Vylan and I explore the real world effects of this greed, and channel it in the only way we know how to - loud & directly. We met when I supported Bob Vylan on their headline tour last year, and to have this track come from that experience feels significant.”
Speaking of the EP, Grove says, “P*W*R is the 1st half of a double EP that explores power in all its forms. The 1st half explores the murkier end of power; the power that people believe to only be achievable through exploitation and immorality - seeking to remind people that the truest and most potent form of power lies within the us all and is activated through community & organisation. The 2nd half will explore a much more playful side of power dynamics, cheekiness and exploration.”
P*W*R is Grove's second EP, following on from last year's Queer + Black, and their 2021 release, SPICE.
"STINKIN RICH FAMILIES" featuring Bob Vylan is out now. Grove's forthcoming EP, P*W*R, will arrive on 19 July.
