Gorillaz unveil new track "Skinny Ape"
Gorillaz have delivered their new "Skinny Ape" single, which is lifted from their forthcoming album Cracker Island.
"Skinny Ape" follows earlier outings "Baby Queen", "New Gold" featuring Tame Impala and Bootie Brown, and the June album title-track featuring Thundercat.
Gorillaz have also announced two immersive live performances for next week, which will see large versions of Murdoc, 2D, Noodle and Russel perform in NYC's Times Square on 17 December, and in London's Piccadilly Circus on 18 December at 2pm GMT. The live performances are directed by Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett and the Emmy-nominated Fx Goby, and are created by Nexus Studios using Google’s ARCore Geospatial API.
Cracker Island will follow their 2020 album Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez, and will include appearances from Stevie Nicks, Bad Bunny, Beck and Adeleye Omotayo.
"Skinny Ape" is out now. Gorillaz will release their Cracker Island album on 24 February 2023 via Parlophone, and is available to pre-order now.
