Frankfurt cancels Roger Waters concert due to "persistent anti-Israel behaviour"
Roger Waters' upcoming May concert in the German city of Frankfurt has been cancelled due "persistent anti-Israel behaviour" from "one of the most widely spread anti-Semites in the world."
Former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters has had one of his upcoming This Is Not A Drill tour dates cancelled in Frankfurt, and the official city portal has revealed that it's because of "persistent anti-Israel behaviour" from "one of the most widely spread anti-Semites in the world."
According to the portal, there are also calls to cancel Waters' shows in Berlin, Munich and Cologne.
The portal adds, "The magistrate therefore feels called upon to set a clear signal against anti-Semitism that is supported by society as a whole. Against this background, the individual case decision made due to the special scope is not to be seen as a precedent."
