Four Tet remixes Everything But The Girl's "Nothing Left To Lose"
Everything But The Girl reveal their remix EP for "Nothing Left To Lose" which is led by Four Tet's rework.
"Nothing Left To Lose" was released in January of this year and signified Everything But The Girl's first release in 24 years, since 1999's Temperamental. The band have shared two more singles from their upcoming album Fuse – "Run A Red Light" and "Caution To The Wind" – but they have chosen to give the album's lead single a new lease of life with a series of remixes.
Four Tet's remix follows his Fred again.. and Skrillex collaboration "Baby again.." that was unveiled earlier this month.
Speaking of their decision to work with Four Tet, real name Kieran Hebden, Everything But The Girl say: "We've always loved that meditative but propulsive thing in Kieran's music. The restraint mixed with momentum. It is something that we often explore as well, so asking him to rework one of our songs felt like a great fit. There is a confident lightness of touch to his remix, underpinned by a raw killer beat, and a beautiful final third where all the subtle intricacies of his additional production coalesce."
Alongside the Four Tet remix, the Nothing Left To Lose EP also features club and dub remixes by Ben Watt and Bruno Ellingham (Massive Attack, New Order, Hot Chip).
Everything But The Girl’s Nothing Left To Lose remix EP is out now and the band’s new album Fuse will follow on 21 April. Pre-orders are available at ebtg.com.
