Foster the People create ‘Battle of the Houdinis’ mash-up featuring Eminem and Dua Lipa
Foster the People frontman Mark Foster has created a remix of "Houdini" tracks featuring his own band alongside Eminem and Dua Lipa.
“Alright, so there’s like two ‘Houdini’s on the radio right now, one from Eminem, one from Dua Lipa. Thought it’d be fun to bring in our OG ‘Houdini’ from our first record and, you know, mash the three of them up together,” he said in a video posted to the band's Instagram account.
Foster The People's "Houdini" featured on their 2011 debut album, Torches, whilst Dua Lipa released hers last year as the lead single from her Radical Optimism. Eminem, on the other hand, dropped his earlier this year as a taster of his forthcoming album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).
Foster The People recently announced their forthcoming album, Paradise State of Mind which is set to follow the band's third album, 2017’s Sacred Hearts Club. A series of stand-alone singles were then followed in 2020 by the independent EP, In the Darkest of Nights, Let the Birds Sing, highlighted by such singles as “Lamb’s Wool.” Meanwhile, 2021 saw Foster The People celebrate the tenth anniversary of Torches with the extended deluxe edition, Torches X.
Paradise State of Mind is set for release on 16 August via Atlantic Records, and is available to pre-order.
