Fontaines D.C. unveil new single, “Here’s The Thing”
Fontaines D.C. have released “Here’s The Thing”, as the third single revealed from their forthcoming album ROMANCE.
"Here’s The Thing" was written days before the band entered the studio to record the album. “It’s an anxious tune that twists and turns in what it wants, back and forth between pain and numbness,” Grian Chatten describes. It’s an urgent song, searching for autonomy in emotional extremes.
The accompanying cinematic music video directed by lauded filmmaker Luna Carmoon (Hoard, Shagbands, Nosebleed) channels the essence of teen-horror films like The Lost Boys and Phenomena; immersing the band in a traditional Irish Dancing competition, where chaos triumphs.
"Here's The Thing" follows previous singles, "Favourite", and "Starburster".
Fontaines D.C recently announced their biggest headline show to date at Finsbury Park on 5 July 2025. Joining them for the huge outdoor gig will be Australian punk rock band Amyl and the Sniffers and Belfast hip hop trio Kneecap, with more acts still to be announced.
Tickets go on general sale Friday 9 August via Ticketmaster. ROMANCE, will be released on 23 August via XL Recordings, and is available to pre-order now.
